Owens Collecting Backpacks, School Supplies
The Owens Community College Alumni Association is collecting new or gently used backpacks and new school supplies to be donated to low-income elementary students. Requested items include crayons, markers, bottles of glue, glue sticks, colored pencils, pencils, erasers, school boxes, pocket folders, marbled-cover composition books and tissues. United Way Accepts Donations For Storm Victims
Local relief agencies and emergency response personnel have chosen United Way of Greater Toledo to collect and distribute donations for long-term storm rebuilding efforts in Wood and Ottawa counties.
To make a donation, visit www.unitedwaytoledo.org then choose either Wood County or Ottawa County. Each page will have specific instructions on how to donate to that county’s relief efforts.

Notre Dame Sisters Offer Volunteer Service Weeks
The Sisters of Notre Dame will offer a service week in Leipsic, Ohio, on July 11-16 for college-age women and July 18-23 for high school girls.

Volunteers Needed For Lung Cancer Fund-Raiser
The Free to Breathe 5K run/one-mile walk is in need of volunteers on Saturday, July 31. The run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. at Perrysburg Junior High School, and events continue until 10:00 p.m. at Signature Harley-Davidson. Live music, a silent auction, poker run and juried bike show will be featured. Proceeds benefit the National Lung Cancer Partnership.
